About Owlfeather

I am currently a college student at Miami University of Ohio for video game art. First and foremost, I am a sci-fi and fantasy nerd. I love video games, tabletop games and rpgs, cosplay, anime, and reading. With all these interests, I want to one day be able to create my own stories and video games that can be an escape for others, as well as something that can bring people together.

I currently make a lot of fanart of things I am passionate about, but I am working on my own personal projects, the one I am currently working on being Mystal Academy. I hope to one day turn this into either an animated web series or tv show.
I want to strive to show myself in every character I draw or write, as I think it might help others figure out who they are in the process.

I am on the ASD spectrum, or in simpler terms, I am autistic. Figuring this out has clarified a lot for me and if I can present some of the things I experienced growing up without this knowledge, maybe I can help show others that these kind of things are normal and they're not alone.

Another aspect I want my work to focus on, and this shows a lot in Mystral Academy, is what being labeled as "gifted" as a child means. It oftens leads to stress and burnout when someone grows up, as it did to me, and this can be confusing and demoralizing. I want to show how to make it past what you are labelled as and how to be happy with what you accomplish, no matter how small, as sometimes those are the bigger things in life.

The final aspect I want to show is being asexual in todays society. Its not something that is shown or is ever explained well in media. Being asexual often comes with a lot of stigma and misrumors that are simply untrue. Its not celibacy. Its not always being sex repulsed. It does not mean I will never have a relationship or kids. It simply means I do not experience sexual attraction. I want to clarify the experience and confusion that comes with the discovery, and finally the relief in finding out what it means and how you fit in, so maybe I can help someone else figure it out sooner.

Beyond storytelling, I want to do a lot more art, working for indie companies and their projects as those are my favorite types of games. I also want to do commission work, as well as stream and post my art in videos online. I want to do a lot in the future, and this is only the beginning.
